October 30–31, 2025 — Lviv
Delta Medical joined the XIX Congress of Military Surgeons and Anesthesiologists of Ukraine, a national forum focused on high-technology management of modern combat surgical trauma. The meeting, held in Lviv and organized by the Ukrainian Association “Medicine of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” convened frontline and rear-hospital teams for practical knowledge exchange.
Demonstrations at the venue highlighted new techniques in wartime surgery, including the “biowelding” method of living tissue welding.

Clinical nutrition in combat trauma — session highlights
Professor Kostiantyn Humeniuk, Chief Military Surgeon of Ukraine, delivered “Specifics of medical nutrition in severely wounded patients,” emphasizing:
- Early nutrition screening and individualized plans aligned with ESPEN recommendations.
- Stepwise use of Priora tube-feeding formulas from stabilization through rehabilitation, tailored to injury severity and surgical course.
- Priora sip-feeds for maxillofacial trauma and dysphagia when oral intake is limited.
- Priora Protein+ as an adjunct protein source to address hypoproteinemia and support recovery under high catabolic load.
Anemia in the wounded — intensive care considerations
Colonel Oleksandr Petrusha, PhD, presented “Anemia in wounded patients,” reviewing the role of intravenous iron in ICU pathways:
- Faster attainment of hemoglobin and ferritin targets compared with oral iron in appropriate cases.
- Operational advantages of single high-dose administration (up to 1000 mg) to expedite iron repletion when clinically indicated.
- Timely restoration of iron stores to support functional status and readiness for staged surgical care.
Delta Medical remains committed to responsible medical education and to providing clinicians with data-driven solutions—Priora clinical nutrition and ferric carboxymaltose (Ferinject®, CSL Vifor)—used within approved indications, local labeling, and clinical guidance to support recovery and rehabilitation of wounded patients.
