Event overview and why it matters
On October 2, 2025, Kyiv hosted “Points of Contact: Dermatology and Allergology – a Common Language of Specialists,” a scientific-practical forum bringing together dermatologists, allergologists, and family physicians.
The program emphasized evidence translation and case-based discussion across skin barrier disorders, urticaria and angioedema, and practice standards. The venue—the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry—provided central access for clinicians traveling from across Ukraine.
For healthcare professionals, dermatology and allergy intersect with primary care and seasonal respiratory burden, shaping prescribing and self-care behaviors. The forum offered a concentrated view of current clinical priorities.

Clinical focus and program highlights
Sessions tracked three themes. First, practical atopic dermatitis care: elimination strategies, barrier-first routines, and steroid-sparing maintenance.
Second, urticaria and angioedema triage: when to escalate, when to refer, and how to communicate risk.
Third, professional practice best practice: documentation, patient communication, and legally sound marketing for private clinics.
The cross-disciplinary format kept attention on decision points that clinicians meet daily: differentiating irritant versus allergic triggers, choosing a nasal therapy sequence for persistent rhinitis, and setting expectations for preventive strategies in recurrent respiratory infections.

Therapies and products discussed
Discussions and materials at the forum covered everyday allergy pathways and supportive skin care:
- Allergic rhinitis: sequencing intranasal corticosteroids with saline hygiene; patient technique and adherence.
- Atopic dermatitis: daily emollients, gentle cleansing, flare prevention, and caregiver education.
- Recurrent respiratory tract infections in allergic patients: positioning of prophylactic options within local labeling.

Delta Medical at the event
Delta Medical staffed an interactive booth focused on allergy control and skin-barrier care. We used a touchscreen quiz to surface practice gaps, QR registration for follow-ups, and on-site texture testing of dermatologic creams.
Conversations with dermatologists, allergologists, and family doctors centered on: clear intranasal technique visuals, short patient leaflets for atopic routines, and concise dosing guides for seasonal symptom spikes.
Our medical affairs colleagues facilitated discussions around Flix® (mometasone furoate) for persistent rhinitis, Humer® solutions for nasal hygiene, Allerweg Atopic® emollients for maintenance between flares, Broncho-Vaxom® (OM-85) for RTI prophylaxis in appropriate patients, and Akimba® (olopatadine) for ocular allergy.
Follow-ups are planned to supply clinics with updated materials aligned to these needs, including patient-ready leaflets and CME-compatible slide sets.
Market and access insights for UA/CIS/EAEU
Outpatient allergy and dermatology care in Ukraine remains partially out-of-pocket, with private insurance gradually expanding coverage for select categories. National tender focus prioritizes high-impact hospital therapies; ambulatory products rely on physician education, and patient affordability.
