Event overview and why it matters
The XXVII “Topical Issues in Pediatrics (Актуальні питання педіатрії; Сідельниковські читання)” convened pediatricians and family physicians in Yaremche on September 17–20, 2025. The hybrid format sustained national reach while keeping an onsite forum for practical exchange.
For companies serving pediatric care, the meeting is a clear barometer of frontline needs ahead of the respiratory season and a venue for evidence-based product education.

Clinical focus and program highlights
The scientific program prioritized real-world pediatrics: acute upper and lower respiratory infections, antimicrobial stewardship, allergic rhinitis, cognitive and sleep issues, and GI complaints in children. Sessions also spotlighted preventive strategies and outpatient algorithms relevant to primary care.
Workshops preceding the main days emphasized case discussions and practical decision-making, aligning with day-to-day questions in clinics and hospitals.

Key Event Speakers
Key sessions were delivered by leading academics from Kyiv and regional centers.
- Prof. Serhii P. Kryvopustov (O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University, Pediatrics) covered acute rhinosinusitis and laryngopharyngitis in children and oral-health considerations in pediatric practice.
- Prof. Oleksandr P. Volosovets and Prof. Andrii O. Volosovets (Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Pediatrics) addressed cognitive disorders and emetic-syndrome management in children.
- Assoc. Prof. Oleksandr V. Sharikadze (Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Pediatric Infectious Diseases) reviewed the role of probiotics as adjuvants in acute respiratory infections.
- Prof. Serhii O. Kramarov (O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University, Pediatrics) discussed antibacterial therapy for infectious diarrhea.
Contributions from Dr. Tetiana O. Krochko (Poltava State Medical University) and teams from Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University and Bukovinian State Medical University expanded the dialogue across antibiotic use, sleep optimization, and respiratory-infection management.

Therapies and products discussed
Clinical discussions at our stand centered on common pediatric conditions that dominate autumn visits: URTIs, allergic rhinitis, and GI-related complaints. In these contexts we presented:
• BioGaia® (Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938) by BioGaia — pediatric-focused probiotic strains with robust clinical documentation in GI health and selected respiratory contexts.
• Flix® (mometasone furoate) — intranasal corticosteroid option aligned with guideline-based management of allergic rhinitis.
• Deflu® (multi-herbal formulation) — designed for symptomatic support in colds.
• ZEST Effervit® C — effervescent vitamin range suitable for physician-guided supplementation.
• Kuchiku® — pediatric care range for day-to-day needs where non-prescription support is appropriate.

Delta Medical at the event
Our team operated a modular booth with brand-specific mini-stands for efficient physician flow. All attendees registered digitally; physicians received BioGaia samples to facilitate first-hand evaluation in practice. A supervised tasting of Deflu allowed HCPs to assess organoleptic properties relevant to pediatric adherence. Medical representatives in BioGaia-branded attire supported continuous discussion and directed traffic to focused product zones.
Educational materials prioritized clinical conversations: BioGaia storybooks for parent counseling, algorithm-style leave-behinds for allergic rhinitis and URTI visits.
Across the three days, booth traffic remained strong with steady interest from pediatricians and family doctors. The team captured qualified follow-ups with hospital departments and outpatient centers, including requests for clinical education sessions and replenishment of patient-facing materials.
ZEST Effervit discussions supported season-preparedness messaging and reinforced vitamin D and multivitamin talking points for at-risk pediatric cohorts.
Market and access insights for UA/CIS/EAEU
Pediatric outpatient care in Ukraine remains dominated by private our of pocket purchases via pharmacies; hospital tenders focus on prescription essentials rather than OTC or supplements. As respiratory season begins, physicians favor options with clear pediatric dosing, safety, and palatability. Intranasal corticosteroids are the mainstay for persistent allergic rhinitis; probiotics with documented pediatric strains are considered as adjuncts in GI-dominant complaints and select URTI scenarios.
For pharmaceutical companies, evidence-led education, and point-of-care materials continue to be the most effective levers. In CIS/EAEU markets, registration pathways and labeling vary; planning should segment SKUs and claims to local norms while maintaining unified HCP education assets.
Delta Medical will build on Yaremche meetings with targeted medical-education events through winter, and pharmacy-channel programs that support adherence and correct use in children.
