February 12, 2026 — Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Delta Medical Uzbekistan and the Ayol Care Women’s Health Centre jointly convened the first Gynecologists’ School, a continuing-education meeting that brought together 30 obstetrician-gynecologists from maternity hospitals across Tashkent. The program focused on contemporary management of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in obstetric and gynecologic practice.
A Persistent Clinical Challenge
Iron deficiency anemia is among the most prevalent hematologic conditions in women of reproductive age, with direct consequences for maternal and neonatal outcomes. Despite well-established diagnostic criteria and an expanding range of therapies, gaps between published evidence and routine clinical management persist. The Gynecologists’ School was structured to close that gap through expert-led education and case-based discussion among practicing clinicians.

Ayol Care Women’s Health Centre
Ayol Care is a private multidisciplinary clinic in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district built entirely around women’s health. The center delivers gynecology, mammalogy, reproductive medicine, endocrinology, oncology, ultrasound diagnostics, radiology, and more than 200 laboratory assays under one roof, supported by a fully equipped inpatient surgical unit. Its concentration of specialist expertise and patient volume in obstetrics and gynecology made it the right institutional partner for this initiative.
Faculty
The program was organized in partnership with Professor S.N. Sultanov, MD, DSc, Chief Physician of Ayol Care, board member, and highest-category obstetrician-gynecologist. Professor Sultanov’s standing within the Tashkent obstetric community was key to assembling senior clinicians from across the city’s maternity hospitals.

The keynote was delivered by E.Zh. Iskhakov, MD, DSc, a board-certified hematologist and Head of the Department of Hematology, Pediatric Oncology, Clinical Immunology, and Transfusiology at the Tashkent Institute of Advanced Medical Training. His presentation, “Iron Deficiency Anemia: An Old Problem, a New Approach to Treatment,” covered the evolving therapeutic landscape, with specific attention to clinical evidence for intravenous iron therapies and their positioning within the national treatment protocol.
Scientific Program
The session addressed four core areas:
- Regional epidemiology of IDA prevalence among women of reproductive age
- Contemporary treatment algorithms, including the role of intravenous ferric carboxymaltose (Ferinject®, manufactured by CSL Vifor) within evidence-based care pathways
- Published clinical evidence and safety data supporting modern parenteral iron therapy
- National protocol integration and how updated guidelines translate into day-to-day clinical decisions in obstetric settings
Attendees worked through real clinical cases, shared management approaches, and posed questions directly to the faculty. The format produced a working professional discussion, not a passive lecture.
